Establishing its operations in 1995, M.E.H Industries (Pvt) Ltd. is a pioneering family owned company that has grown from humble beginnings into one of Sri Lanka’s premier manufacturers, processors, and exporters of high-quality Ceylon Tea, ranging from Ceylon Black Tea and Green Tea to other speciality Ceylon Teas, including the high quality ranges of Tippy Teas.

Deriving its name from the reverse of the first three letters of the name Hemas-; M.E.H Industries (Pvt) Ltd. is guided by principles of entrepreneurship, tempered with ideals of integrity, responsibility and sustainability distilled from its core family values.

Mr. Mohamed Esufally was originally a family member of the Hemas Group but ventured out on his own with the name change based on familial ties. The first three letters of his daughter Mehnaz Esufally coincidentally corresponded with the Company name, lending further strength to the value of the name M.E.H.

The Company is headquartered in the heart of Sri Lanka’s bustling commercial capital, the Colombo Fort (Colombo 01), situated in close proximity to key business infrastructure as well as other leading institutions including the Colombo Port and major banking, private sector, and government institutions.

M.E.H. operates its own Warehousing, Storing, Blending, and Packaging facilities, supported by a highly dedicated, efficient, and skillful team of employees, including a mix of young professionals and luminaries in the fields of Manufacture, Trade, and Finance.

M.E.H. maintains a large brand portfolio which has earned the Company an international reputation of producing and exporting only the highest quality Ceylon Tea.

The Company has been a pioneer both in terms of market diversification, having been one of the first Sri Lanka tea exporters to enter the Russian market when it first opened out from the former Soviet Union as well as in terms of value-addition, factors which have helped M.E.H to expand its exports into markets spanning the Middle-East, Europe, CIS Nations, Eastern and Western Africa, Central and East Asia, and more recently, South America whilst maintaining contacts with major Tea Importers across all international markets.

The quality and diversity of M.E.H.’s product portfolio is complemented by the versatility of its Packaging options, comprising bulk packaging as well as loose tea in a variety of innovative packaging options including tea bags and loose tea in consumer packs utilizing a wide range of packaging materials from carton packs to printed aluminum pouches.

M.E.H. continuously strives to uphold the highest standards in Product Quality, holding The, ISO 22000 and HACCP certification, and is strongly engaged with the country’s tea industry, holding membership in all Ceylon Tea related institutions, including the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, The Colombo Tea Traders Association, The Tea Exporters’ Association and the African & Middle East Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
